For the 30th year, Art on the Avenue will be returning to Alexandria early in October.
More than 350 artists and vendors will be on-site selling their creations and items.
Artists that attend events like this often have Business Cards printed beforehand.
More than 30 food court, street vendors and restaurants will be selling everything from kettle corn, lemonade, and strudels to peanut brittle, tacos and pastries.
The Kids Corner, located at Mount Vernon Rec Center outside field, will feature stations with interactive art activities. Organized by local non-profits, these activities will have options for preschool, K-3, grades 4-6 and Middle school age and may include art projects like easel painting, yarn owls, and pumpkin painting.
The festival will have three stages. The City Stage at Pat Miller Neighborhood Square at Oxford and Mt. Vernon Avenues will feature 45-minute sets from groups like The Rand Band, Irish Breakfast Band, and Alexandria Children's Chorus. The Homegrown Stage at Nancy Dunning Garden, 2809 Mt. Vernon Avenue, will have smaller groups including Sofia Marie Duo, Bill and Bob Duo, and the Krista O'Connor Duo.
The Colonel Arnald D. Gabriel Concert Band Stage at the outdoor basketball court at Mt. Vernon Community School will present local fare including Alexandria Singers, Alexandria City High School Orchestra, NOVA Concert Band, and NOVA Nighthawks.
Art on the Avenue will take place from 10:00 am to 6:00 pm on Saturday, October 4th along Mr. Vernon Avenue in the Del Ray neighborhood.
