The annual Around the World Cultural Food festival returns to Alexandria next month, bringing a multicultural experience to food lovers throughout the region.
Free to attend, this year’s event will feature cuisine from many countries throughout the world, including the United States, Europe, the Middle East, and the Americas. One local restaurant is carefully chosen to represent each country. While enjoying the food, attendees will experience a diverse variety of dance performances and singers. The festival also includes vendors and artisans selling handmade crafts, artwork, jewelry, and clothing, as well as larger commercial vendors promoting their products and services.
Vendors are still welcome to register for this event, with fees dependent on the type of product or service being offered. Vendors are permitted to sell their products, provide information about their services, and may choose to distribute Promotional Products at the event.
Proceeds from the festival are in support of the International Cultural and Educational Development Fund. This non-profit charitable organization helps to preserve cultural heritage in the United States, by supporting educational programs for children in the arts.
The 2021 World Cultural Food Festival will be held on Saturday, July 31, from 11:00 AM to 7:00 PM. Due to social distancing regulations set by the Virginia Health Department and the CDC, the festival will be held in a new location this year, in downtown Alexandria at the Oronoco Bay Park. The waterfront space is located at 100 Madison Street.
