Film festival brings free entertainment to local park
The 15th Annual Comcast Outdoor Film Festival will feature free family-friendly entertainment for two nights only.
The 40-foot inflatable screen erected at Waterfront Park will soon play family movies over two consecutive nights. Each nightly event will present just one movie.
The popular animated Disney film Moana will be shown from 8:30 PM to 11:30 PM on Friday, July 14. The day after, the festival will present Rogue One: A Star Wars Story. The park gates will open at 5:30 pm to allow everyone time to arrive and get settled before the film begins.
All guests are encouraged to bring their own chairs and other items needed to make themselves comfortable during the show. Arriving early is recommended because seating cannot be reserved. The event is being held at Waterfront Park at 1 Prince Street in Alexandria. There is no fee for admission and everyone is invited and welcome to attend.
The Comcast Corporation partners with local municipalities to present the family film festivals that take place during the summer in multiple locations across the southeast. Any income earned from the festival is donated to local charities.
