The 2025 George Washington Birthday parade will be marching through Old Town Alexandria in February.
To commemorate nation's Revolutionary War's 250 anniversary, this year's theme will be "George Washington: America's Commander-in-Chief.
Traditionally the procession has over 1,000 participants in drum corps, fraternal and community organizations, color guards, youth groups, city dignitaries, local merchants and General George and his wife Martha. If the weather cooperates the spectator count is expected to be somewhere around 80,000.
The route will begin at the intersection of Gibbon Street and Fairfax, go north on Fairfax to Queen Street, turn west for one block and then south on Royal Street to Wilkes Street passed the reviewing stand on King Street.
Units may still preregister for $75 until January 15 when rates go up to $125 per unit until it closes Friday, January 31st.
Eight sponsorship levels are still available. Parade donors at the $250 level will receive recognition on the parade's website, newsletter, social media and in the Zebra (a local paper delivered to residents and businesses.) Those sponsors at the remaining $500, $1000, $2500, $5000, $10,000 and $20,000 levels will need to get their Logo Design to the event organizers before the Parade Review Stand banner printing gets done.
This year's George Washington Birthday Parade will be from 2:00 pm to 4:00 pm Saturday February 15th.
