Burke and Herbert Bank presents the yearly Old Town Festival of Speed and Style in Alexandria this summer.
This is the second year of the event, which displays the best of Old Town, including the food, art, architecture, and history. More than 40 stores and local vendors in the Boutique District will perform music and exhibit clothing.
The main event is the display of multiple unusual and unique cars from the decades from 1950 into the 1980s. Coming from all around the world, the cars are famous for their aesthetics, speed, and function. Many of them ranked high in European tenacity races like the 24 Hours of Le Mans.
Residents are welcome to walk around for free and see the vehicles between the 100-300 blocks of King Street in Old Town. To enter a vehicle into the event, it costs $117 to apply. The fee is tax deductible and refunded if the application is not selected. A panel of competition judges created the applications. Vehicle owners can apply online.
Registration fees go toward the Washington and Baltimore branch of the United Service Organization and ALIVE! Organizers are also looking for historical and visually unique items to display.
The Old Town Festival of Speed and Style will take place on June 7, rain or shine. Poster printing can promote visually oriented events with large colorful images.
