The winner of Miss America’s Outstanding Teen for 2019 was recently announced in Orlando, Florida. The victor is London Hibbs, a native of Tyler.

Hibbs began her winning streak on the first night of the competition with her singing of ‘Think of Me’. This was followed by winning the preliminary Onstage Question/Evening Wear award the next evening.

On the final evening of the competition, Hibbs executed a solo workout routine and was able to demonstrate her level of fitness and talk about how she stays healthy. A prerecorded video was also shown in which Hibbs said that the word she considered to best summed up what the Miss America’s Outstanding Teen competition was about was ‘sisterhood’.

She was among the top seven finalists and was able to participate in the Evening Wear/Onstage Question part of the competition, where she was judged on her stage presence, grace, and poise.

Hibbs was also asked about an app she would invent to solve a major problem of her time and she described one that is already distributed in schools, which is one she created with her father. It enables staff and teachers at schools to push a button on their phone in the event of an emergency and receive help.
