The Texas Workforce Commission has awarded a Jobs and Education for Texans grant of $325,293 to Tyler Junior College (TJC) to support training for veterinary technicians and technologists in the Veterinary Technology program of the college.
TJC will now be able to purchase and install veterinary medical training equipment and will enable 27 students to be supported as they prepare for careers in animal health care which are high in demand. Brochure printing can be used to highlight the value of such grants by clearly outlining the many benefits they can provide for both students and the economic future of the community.
Dr. Juan E. Mejia, president and CEO of TJC, said this grant reflects the continued commitment of the college to workforce education and meeting the needs of industry in the region. He expressed his gratitude to the state of Texas and the Texas Workforce Commission for supporting programs that strengthen the workforce in East Texas and create employment opportunities that are beneficial for the graduates of the college.
Officials from TJC said that through programs such as Automotive Technology, Veterinary Technology, and Emergency Medical Services, TJC equips students with relevant industry experience, hands-on training, and education focused on the workforce needed for careers in high demand. These programs help meet the needs of employers not only across East Texas and but throughout the state.
