Tyler Junior College offers trip to Greece

A travel and study project to Greece during spring break has recently been announced by Tyler Junior College.

During the tour, students will learn about both ancient and modern Greece and be educated on the origins of the Western World, as many consider ancient Greece to be the basis for ideas about democracy. Included in the tour will be visits to seven of the 18 UNESCO heritage sites that are located in Greece, including Olympia, Mycenae, Corinth, and the Acropolis in Athens, among others. It is hoped that those who take advantage of this tour will come to love the welcoming and vibrant people of the country and develop an appreciation for its unique history.

The tour lasts for 10 days and the price of $2,090 includes entrance fees to sites, double occupancy room in high-quality hotels, two meals per day, a tour guide who speaks English, and ground transportation. Those who wish to take part in the tour need to find their own air travel. Brochure printing can be used to provide more detailed information about the itineraries of such trips and other items that are included in the price.

There will be an information session about the trip on Saturday, February 9 at 9:00 am in the Ornelas Health and Physical Education Center on the main campus of Tyler Junior College.
