Print shops often are involved in making such announcements known to the community.
Loretta Swan, the new dean, has been a professor and department chair of the Medical Office Management, Healthcare Administration and Health Information programs at the college since January 2013. She was vice president of operations for Trinity Clinic for 16 years prior to joining TJC and was involved in managing the day-to-day operations of 35 sites and 300 providers.
Provost and vice president for academic and student affairs at TJC, Dr. Deana Sheppard, said that Swan has a great deal of experience and a strong background that makes her uniquely qualified to lead the School of Professional and Technical Programs as its dean. Sheppard added that Swan is passionate about serving the college, its programs, the faculty, and the staff and has strong ties to the greater Tyler community. Sheppard expressed her pride in having Swan as part of the team.
The Texas Distance Learning Association has given Swan the Outstanding Commitment to Excellence and Innovation in Distance Learning Award while the Northeast Texas Consortium of Colleges and Universities has given her the Outstanding Distance Learning Faculty Award. She has made many presentations at local and national symposiums and conferences.
