Tyler becomes home to prototype travel center

A new CEFCO Travel Center has recently been opened in Tyler by CEFCO Convenience Stores.

The chain’s largest center to date, it is also the first one to open this year. The new center is a prototype for the company and is 13,800 square feet in size sitting on over 25 acres.

There are many amenities for travelers and truckers, and these include fresh and robust hot and cold food offerings. Among the options are a “Fresh Eats” take-out menu and self-serve frozen yogurt. Subway and Carl’s Jr. anchor the travel center and offer take-out meals, as well as a place for those who want to enjoy their meal at the center.

For those on extensive trips, there is a lounge for truckers, laundry facilities, showers, and seven lanes for the fueling of trucks. An RV dump with four RV or buses spaces, 72 parking spaces, and a dog park are available for everyday travelers.

President of the Fikes Cos, Raymond Smith, said that this center is state-of-the-art and can be a destination travel center for travelers, truckers, and even residents in the community.
