Two students honored by Tyler Junior College

Two sophomores from Tyler Junior College (TJC) have received the Rotary Young Citizens Award for their scholarship, leadership, service, and dependability, among other many esteemed characteristics. The faculty and staff at the college are the ones who select these recipients.

Announcements of such awards can be made known throughout the community using banner printing services.

One of the students who received this award is Justin Crowe. Hailing from Jacksonville, he is a pre-med and chemistry major. Among his achievements are being named an internationally distinguished member of Phi Theta Kappa in 2018 and being a member of the Presidential Honors Program. Crowe plans to transfer to The University of Texas at Tyler once he graduates from TJC, after which he will attend medical school.

The other student who received this award is Hannah Lair. She is from Carlinville, Illinois and majors in elementary education. She is also a member of the Presidential Honors Program and is executive secretary of the Student Senate at TJC. Lai plans to attend Texas Tech University after graduation and become an educator.

Crowe also received the Watson W. Wise Incentive Award for his student activities, industry, and scholarship. At an Awards of Excellence Luncheon last Thursday, May 2, Crowe was recognized and received a scholarship of $905 towards his Fall 2019 semester.
