Tour to Greece to be offered in the spring

Tyler Junior College will be offering a study abroad program in Greece next spring.

A course in early Christianity, ancient Greek history, and the origins of the Western world will be the feature of the program. Ancient Greek culture provides the foundation for many ideas about classical literature, democracy, medicine, and architecture among many other aspects of the Western world.

Highlighted in the program will be visits to seven of 18 UNESCO heritage sites of Greece, including Olympia, Epidaurus, Corinth, and the Acropolis in Greece. This will enable travelers to develop respect for the beauty and the history of the country and to appreciate the welcoming and vibrant people. Brochure printing is often used for such trips to provide travelers with more details about sites to be visited and other attractions.

Included in the trip is a room with double occupancy in four-star hotels; ground transportation; two meals a day; a professional tour guide who speaks English; and all entrance fees to the sites. Air travel is to be arranged by the attendees. The cost for the tour is $2,900.

The program will run from March 6 through March 15, 2020, with additional options for yours lasting 10, 11, or 12 days. There will be a free information session about the trip on Saturday February 1 at 9:00 a.m. in the Ornelas Health and Physical Education Center.
