Tales of Tyler to come to life in special performance

The Tyler Loop will be presenting a live storytelling event in July about life in Tyler and East Texas.

Such special events are often promoted throughout a city and the region with poster printing. This storytelling event is inspired by other such popular live storytelling events across the country as StoryCorps, The Moth, and Pop-Up Magazine, all of which help build community in an area.

The Tylerites will portray, in their everyday style and in their own words, stories about life in East Texas that are fearless and fun, serious as well as silly, and uncover something about life in the region. Their goal is to enable audiences to be informed, inspired, and entertained, and leave the show interested in exploring the many more stories that have remained hidden about the city and the region. Local musicians will be part of the show to add some drama and effects to their stories.

Jane Neal, Executive Director of The Loop, expressed her excitement about the show and gave her thanks to the group for their willingness to share their stories. She added that The Tyler Loop is privileged to be able to work with the group and present this show over the summer.

This storytelling event will be held at 7:00 pm on Friday, July 17 and Saturday, July 18 at Liberty Hall in Tyler.
