Science center in Tyler to host summer shows

The Earth and Space Science Center at Tyler Junior College (TJC) is holding a full line up of dome shows and a laser rock series.

The laser summer series will consist of high-energy laser dome shows set to country and rock music. The next laser show will be Laser Country Hits on Saturday, August 16 beginning at 7:00 pm.

Dome shows are taking place on every day of the center’s opening hours. There will be a show suited for children 10 years of age and younger, with a different show each day. “Great Barrier Reef” is narrated by Eric Bana, an acclaimed actor, and captures the exquisite strangeness and natural beauty of the world’s largest living wonder. “Serengeti” features the home of the most iconic animals in Africa and the annual wildebeest migration.

Additional shows include “Cosmic Journey: A Solar System Adventure,” which looks at the outer reaches of the solar system to see if there are worlds that can support life. “Space: The New Frontier” takes audiences on a journey through the stars, and “Mayan Archaeoastronomy: Observers of the Universe” explores the six Mayan temples.

Flyer printing can be used to provide more information about such shows, their hours, and the cost of admission.

The summer hours for the science center will be Tuesday through Saturday from 11:00 am to 4:30 pm until Saturday, August 30.
