Workforce Solutions East Texas has appointed CEO and President of Tyler Junior College, Dr. Juan Meija, to its board.
Announcements of such significant appointments is often made known throughout a college community with flyer printing.
The East Texas Council of Governments supervises Workforce Solutions East Texas, which is a partnership of 14 counties in the region. It includes a labor force of over 413,000 people, over 33,000 industries and businesses, a population of close to 900,000, and 12 private and public institutions of higher education.
The board has 19 members and works with the chief elected officers in the region, serving as the main source for workforce policy. It focuses on active economic development through supporting the growth of industry and business and attracting a high-quality workforce.
Executive director of Workforce Solutions East Texas, Doug Shryock, expressed his honor on behalf of Workforce Solutions East Texas of welcoming Dr. Meija to the board. Shryock said that he has always been proactive in developing the next generation of skilled people for the industries and businesses in the region as well as its future leaders. Shryock added that he is looking forward to the many results Dr. Meija will bring as a member of the board.
Meija expressed his honor of this opportunity and that is incredibly special to him because he has already worked many of the organization staff and board members, considering them good friends and strong partners.
