Oz dances to life at college in Tyler

Tyler Junior College (TJC) will be putting on an original dance production of “The Wizard of Oz” later this month.

Poster printing can be used throughout a college campus to inform the campus community and residents of such special performances.

Ainsleigh Bolt of Tyler, a pre-professional student, will perform the soloist role of Dorothy Gale. Cahir of the TJC Department of Dance and director of the TJC Academy of Dance, Carolyn Hanna, said that Bolt has devoted herself to this role, putting in countless hours of practice to become this successful.

The TJC Academy of Dance has grown significantly in recent years and becoming known as a place for students to train who are looking to join prominent conservatories and dance companies in the United States and around the world. Hanna said that class offerings have been expanded to include more age groups, a new studio space has been added, and collaboration efforts have increased with other organizations in the area.

Performances will be in the Rogers Palmer Performing Arts Center in the Wise Auditorium on the central campus of TJC and will be on Thursday March 13, Friday March 14, and Saturday March 15 at 7:00 p.m. There will be two matinee performances on Saturday March 15 and Sunday March 16 at 2:00 p.m. Admission varies from $15 to $40.
