Tyler Junior College (TJC) will be holding its “Love Under the Stars” event for the 12th consecutive year at the Earth and Space Science Center, featuring the Hudnall Planetarium.
The director of the science center, Dr. Beau Hartweg, said this year’s show in the dome will feature love stories about the constellations that can be seen in the night sky, and the mythology behind them. He added that the dome, which is 40 feet in diameter, will also serve as a virtual tour through the solar system and elsewhere allowing visitors to be transported to places in the universe that were inspired by love.
Special events such as this one often make use of illustrative Posters created by local Print shops to garner interest and attendance.
Attendees must be 21 years of age and older. Tickets are $95 per couple and include dinner for two (which the students of the culinary arts program at TJC will prepare), a gift basket, a commemorative photo, the show at the planetarium, and an outdoor, telescopic viewing. Only one ticket needs to be purchased per couple. Hartweg stresses that this event is popular so those who are interested in it need to purchase their tickets quickly.
This event will be on Friday, February 10 and Saturday, February 11 from 7:00 to 9:30 pm.
