The Criminal Justice Department of Tyler Junior College (TJC) will be hosting a job fair early this month.
The fair will feature jobs from all areas of the field of criminal justice, including parole and probation; law enforcement at the local, state, and federal levels; and county and state correctional agencies. There will be representatives from the region of greater East Texas, as well as agencies from the Dallas-Fort Worth area, Midland, and Houston.
Many local printing services can be called upon to create Posters and Flyers to promote such job fairs throughout a community and the region.
Professor and chair of the Legal and Public Service Careers Department at TJC, Jason Waller, said that this career and job fair will be offered not only to those at TJC but to other college campuses and the public. He added that it will provide a chance for attendees to meet with representatives of close to 50 criminal justice agencies and learn about the many opportunities for employment in the field of criminal justice.
Waller added that often a two-year degree is required for many law enforcement jobs with annual salaries starting between $40,000 and $65,000 a year.
The career fair will be held next Friday, April 8 from 10:00 am to 2:00 pm in the Apache Rooms of Rogers Student Center on the main campus of TJC. It is encouraged that attendees bring their résumés.
