College in Tyler to hold space camp for kids

Tyler Junior College (TJC) will be hosting a camp for children during spring break next month at The Center for Earth and Space Science Education, featuring the Hudnall Planetarium.

Children who attend this camp will have the opportunity to explore the planets and the solar system and journey to the moon in the Hudnall Planetarium. The science behand the changing season will be discussed, along with the chance to launch a rocket. There will be hands-on lessons and activities in science, technology, engineering, and education each day, along with a show at the planetarium.

This camp is geared for children in the first to the fourth grade. Flyer printing is often used for such programs to provide more details about registration, costs, and drop-off and pickup of children.

On the first day, the planets will be explored. The second day of the program will be a journey to the moon. The third day will be on asteroids, meteors, and comets, while the fourth day will be on weather and the seasons. The program will conclude with space exploration and rockets.

The Hudnall Planetarium is a 40-foot state-of-the art domed theatre with a Digistar 5, the latest in digital projection technology.

The camp will take place from Monday, March 9 through Friday, March 13 from 9:00 am to noon.
