Tyler Junior College (TJC) and Texas Tech University have signed an agreement to promote student success and access. This will strengthen the relationships between the two schools and support affordability, quality, cost efficiency, and success for students.
A structure for students to be able to transfer at all levels is provided with the agreement. Courses taken at any location of TJC and by any delivery method will be honored by Texas Tech. Information will be provided by Texas Tech to transfer students on scholarships and other opportunities for financial aid. Each year, TJC will work with Texas Tech to give the school a list of students who meet the criteria for transferring and the two schools will coordinate admissions events, such as transfer fairs and other informational activities.
Such events offer an opportunity for local Print shops to engage in a variety of printing services by providing Brochures, Flyers, and other printed materials for students to read and make further decisions.
Dr. Deana Sheppard, Provost and Vice President for Academics and Student Affairs at TJC, expressed her pleasure with this partnership in that it will enable graduates of TJC to continue their education at Texas Tech. She added that this agreement ensures that students from TJC graduating with an associate degree will be able to transfer their courses to Texas Tech seamlessly, which will help them be successful in college and beyond.
