The first traditional Oktoberfest will be coming to Frisco Square next month. Those from The Colony will not want to miss this special one-day festival. The Oktoberfest is being presented by Nine Band Brewing Co.
Events such as this one are often promoted throughout the community and neighboring towns through banner printing services.
There will be a traditional keg tapping at the opening ceremony to kick off the event. Attendees will be able to savor traditional German cuisine prepared by chefs from the area, dance, and listen to authentic German music performed by the Polka Meisters, Texan Schuhplattler Verein dāHolzar, and the High Definition Band. Other activities include beer stein hoisting and brat eating contests, a marktplatz with 100 shops, and keg rolling, along with many options for cold beer.
Attendees are encouraged to wear traditional German clothing to fully enjoy the experience. It is a family-friendly event. There is no charge for the festival itself. Food will be available for purchase directly from the vendors and tickets will be needed for the purchase of beer and wine.
A portion of the proceeds from the event will benefit Frisco Fastpacs, a non-profit that helps children who experience hunger on a regular basis. A portion of the proceeds from the sale of VIP tickets will go towards the Frisco Rotary Club.
The Oktoberfest will take place on Saturday September 28 beginning at 5:00 p.m.
