White Castle is planning to expand to Texas with its first location in the state at Grandscape in The Colony. It will be on Destination Drive in the large dining, retail, and entertainment complex.
Last summer, White Castle announced that it would be coming to the Lone Star State for the first time in its history of 104 years, A ceremony was held at the site, and the chain is now planning to go ahead with its plans for the $2.1m restaurant.
The new White Castle will span 3,430 square feet and will have a double drive-thru, patio seating, and a canopy. Such new establishments can benefit from banner printing at their planned sites to keep residents informed of their progress.
White Castle was founded in Ohio in 1921 by Billy Ingram. It sold small, square hamburgers topped with steam-grilled onions and a side order of crinkle fries, sold by the sack. In 2014, Time Magazine named the legendary Original Slider the most influential burger of all time. There are now locations of the chain across the United States in states such as New Jersey, Michigan, and Indiana, and now Texas is the latest state to welcome the chain.
Construction of the new White Castle is expected to begin in April, with a planned completion date of August 1.
