Costco has begun construction of a new retail establishment at Grandscape in The Colony.
This Costco will span 155,000 square feet and have a gas station. It will be at the corner of Grandscape Boulevard and Spring Creek Parkway. Such sites often take advantage of banner printing to inform residents of these new projects. The Coty Council of The Colony approved the project in September of last year and ground was broken in December.
A spokesperson for Grandscape expressed their excitement about this store coming to the outdoor destination for shopping, dining, and entertainment.
This location in Grandscape is part of a push for expansion of Costco in North Texas. The continued demand for large-format retail and rapid population growth is fueling this expansion. There are currently new stores in Allen and Prosper with one in Celina with a gas station planned as part of a large mixed-use development. Construction on the store in Celina is expected to start in June and be completed by late November.
High profile tenants that attract people from the region are continuously being added to Grandscape. This new Costco, being a popular and major retail establishment, will complement its mix of other destinations and solidify it even more as a hub in the region.
The store at Grandscape is expected to open this fall with a debut in the spring or summer during the planning phase.
