The Colony to hold recycled art contest

The community is invited to participate in a contest of Recycled Art by the Keep The Colony Beautiful Board. Residents of The Colony can take part in this contest.

The theme for this year’s contest is “The Colony: Past, Present & Future.” The Colony can be showcased by artists as it once was, what it is like currently, or what they believe the future of The Colony will be.

The artwork that is submitted can use any medium of materials that are recycled from one’s personal recycle bin, the majority of the work coming from recycled materials. The attributes, landmarks, themes, or the creative interpretation of the artist of the theme may be highlighted in the submission. General art supplies can also be used in the artwork, and this can include Tape, glue, paint, twine, crayons, makers, and pencils, among other items. Artwork that is three dimensional or sculptures should be freestanding and stable.

More details on such contests and their requirements can be made known throughout a city with flyer printing.

Three photographs and an entry form need to be submitted by Friday December 4 at 5:00 p.m. The artwork needs to be delivered to The Colony City Hall Annex between 5:00 and 7:00 p.m. the same day. Before the Annex opens on Saturday December 5, judging will take place with viewing of the artwork beginning at 10:30 a.m. for two hours.
