The Parks and Recreation Department at The Colony will be holding its annual Back 2 School Bash later this month.
This is a free event that provides school supplies to the first 500 registering students who are starting pre-kindergarten through grade eight. The goal is to help families get ready for a successful year in school.
So that the event can run smoothly and be enjoyable for families, there will be two sessions of 90 minutes each with 250 children per session. Registration is required and those who register will be able to select their desired session when they register.
The event is sponsored by V EYE P Eyecare & Eyewear of Carrollton and presented by Keep the Colony Beautiful. The event will also feature free eye screenings for all students who sign up, in addition to opportunities to connect with local organizations and community resources. Local Print shops can also contribute to such events by printing Brochures and Flyers with more information on what is needed to get ready for the school year.
The Colony Parks and Recreation Department said the motive behind the bash is to help students make a confident and well-prepared start to the new school year, and to support the community.
This event will be at The Colony Recreation Center from 5:00 pm to 8:30 pm on Wednesday, July 22.
