Burger chain to open location in The Colony

White Castle, the burger chain that turns 105 years old this year, has broken ground on its first location in Texas at The Grandscape in The Colony.

This location will span 3,430 square feet with two drive-through windows, and both patio and canopy seating. It will create 70 jobs for residents. Such new positions can be made known throughout a community with poster printing.

White Castle opened in Columbus, Ohio, in 1921, making it the first fast food hamburger chain in the United States. It is a family-owned business that now has 336 restaurants across the country, primarily in the Midwest and Kentucky, with several others in New Jersey, Arizona, and Nevada.

White Castle is known for its handheld sliders, which feature a thin slice of beef, chopped onions, and pickles on a bouncy bun.

CEO of White Castle, Lisa Ingram, said at the groundbreaking ceremony:

“White Castle has been creating memorable moments with our iconic hot and tasty Sliders for more than a century, and today, we are reaching a new milestone as we prepare to bring that Crave to Texas for the very first time.”

She added that Grandscape in The Colony is the ideal location for is first shop in the state, and she expressed her excitement about welcoming new patrons to the White Castle family.

This new restaurant is likely to open in late fall this year.
