The annual City-Wide Spring Clean-Up will be held by Republic Waste Services and the city of The Colony later this month.
Various types of trash - such as appliances, lumber, debris from remodeling, furniture, tree limbs, and scrap metal - can be brought by residents of the city to this event. Other items residents can dispose of include electronics such as printers and monitors; DVD and CD players; tires from cars, SUVs, and small trucks; copiers; and televisions. Residents will be allowed to bring no more than eight tires to the clean-up with additional limits on televisions and monitors to four.
The Clean-Up will also provide shredding for residents who have secure documents that need to be destroyed, and the removal of freon from appliances. No chemicals of any kind or liquids will be accepted at the event.
The NTX Community Food Pantry will be accepting donations at the event. Residents can bring non-perishable food items for the pantry. Local Print shops often assist in alerting residents to the drop-off location at such events through the use of Flyers.
The Clean-Up will take place in the Hawaiian Falls Water Park parking lot on Saturday, April 16 from 8:00 am to noon. This event is open only to residents of The Colony, who will need to provide proof of residency with a photo ID or utility bill.
