The Colony to host clean-up day

The annual City-Wide Fall Clean-Up will be held later this month by Republic Waste Services and the city of The Colony.

Refuse such as large tree limbs, appliances, furniture, scrap materials, debris from remodeling, and other trash may be brought by residents to the Hawaiian Falls Water Park parking lot. Other items that may be collected will include tires from cars, small trucks, and SUVs; all types of batteries; electronics such as monitors, computers, and printers; CD and DVD players and televisions; and copiers. Each resident can bring up to eight items.

The Clean-Up will also provide shredding services for the destruction of confidential documents and removing Freon from appliances. Chemicals of any kind will not be accepted at the Clean-Up, and nor will liquids.

Donations to the NTX Community Food Pantry will also be accepted during the event. Attendees can bring non-perishable food items. Local Print shops often assist in spreading the word about such requests for donations to the community through the use of Flyers. Donations are not required to participate in the event but will be appreciated.

Only residents of The Colony will be able to bring materials to the event. Proof of residency will be required by showing a photo ID or utility bill.

This event will take place this Saturday, October 15 from 8:00 am to noon
