The Colony Parks and Recreation Department, The Colony Public Library, and The Colony Convention and Visitors Bureau (CVB) will be hosting an event to view the Total Solar Eclipse in April.
This event will include crafts, solar viewing stations, and free solar glasses. The path of the eclipse will fall directly over the city. At 12:23 pm the partial eclipse will begin with the total eclipse occurring at 1.41 pm. The total solar eclipse will last for two minutes and 41 seconds. Then, the sun will emerge from behind the moon.
Director of the Library, Megan Charters, said that this is really a once-in-a-lifetime event. She added that, as such, it is important that attendees learn as much as they can about such events. She said the library will be offering material about the science behind the eclipse and it will be presented so that people of all ages will be able to understand and enjoy the material.
There will be a scale model of the solar system with information about the planets and the sun, shadow stations, and solar telescopes, among other items. Such events are opportunities for local Print shops to create Brochures, pamphlets, and other printed materials with more details about such astronomical occurrences.
The event will take place on Monday, April 8 from 12:30 to 2:30 pm at Stewart Creek Park.Get a Free Quote for Brochures Get a Free Quote for Print
