New restaurant with unique attraction to open in The Colony

It was recently announced that another location of DFW Truck Yard will be opening in mid-July at the Grandscape development in The Colony. The first Truck Yard opened in 2013 on Greenville Avenue and has become a popular outdoor hub for drinking and dining.

The Brain Storm Shelter group, run by chef Jason Boso, owns and operates the Truck Yard. Barney Smith’s Toilet Seat Museum was purchased by the group in November of last year and it now has a collection of 1,400 decorated toilet seats. Boso said these toilet seats will be the attention-grabber of the new Truck Yard, and he hoped they would help it become one of the top roadside attractions in the country.

Beard Science will also be a new element in the Truck Yard. This will be a brewpub focusing on fermentation of a mixed, wild, Belgian style that will enable small batches of sour beer to be created.

A karaoke room, a tiki bar, and a cheesesteak stand like the ones at other locations of the Truck Yard will join the brewpub and toilet seat collection. Live music will also be scheduled on a regular basis, and flyer printing can be used to Print such schedules so guests can plan their visits to such new attractions.

Neighbors of the Truck Yard when it opens include a Mi Cocina and Heritage Pizza and Taproom, Lava Cantina (a hub for live music), and Rock and Brews.
