Ground has been broken on a new development of rental homes in The Colony.
The development will consist of 216 rental homes to be built by Avanta Residential, an affiliate of Hunt Companies that specializes in rentals of single-family homes. General Manager of The Colony, Rick Neff, expressed his pleasure in being able to add this offering to residents of the city. He added that The Colony is a master-planned community, and so having different types of homes available residents can be especially appealing.
The development will be at the intersection of FM 969 and Sam Houston Drive, and will be a master-planned community spanning 2,300 acres. The homes will be rental properties. Among the amenities in the community will be walking trails with fitness stations, a pool and clubhouse, playgrounds, and open play areas. Such developments with details to share about their features and location are often promoted throughout a community with brochure printing.
Jim Dobbie, president of Aventa, said that his company is collaborating on this project with a high-end homebuilder so that a high-quality neighborhood can be developed. He added that the ability to rent the homes will give people more flexibility, while also enabling them to experience living in a house rather than an apartment.
The project is expected to be completed next year.
