New musical to premiere in The Colony

The world premiere of “His Story: The Musical” will be taking place at Grandscape in The Colony this spring.

News about such performances with more details about dates, times, actors, and ticket costs is often spread through flyer printing.

Anna Miriam Brown wrote the musical, which is based on the life of Jesus Christ. Brown says that the inspiration for the musical came from the history of the Broadway musical “Hamilton.” Producers Korie and Willie Robertson and Bruce Lazarus, as well as director Jeff Calhoun, played a role in bringing the musical to The Colony.

The show will be put on in Broadway tent, which will be state-of-the-art and will seat 1,300 people. It will be built on the empty lot by the Ferris wheel at Grandscape. Matthew Churchill Productions, Ltd. designed the tent, which will have an overhead projection mapping with a 360-degree view, plush seating, and heating and air conditioning.

Richard Boyet, the mayor of The Colony, expressed his thanks to the partners at Grandscape and all those who were involved in bringing this musical to the city. He said he is thrilled that the musical will be performed in the city as it will bring so many people from the region and even other states.

Performances will begin Friday, May 5 and run until mid-September.
