The Colony’s Grandscape development now has a Ferris wheel reaching 180 feet high, making it the tallest structure in the city.
The Ferris wheel is on Grandscape Boulevard near Scheels, Andretti Indoor Karting and Games, and Nebraska Furniture Mart.
This new Ferris wheel will be operational all year and has 42 climate-controlled gondolas, as well as a VIP gondola for four people with seats made of leather in the style of a Ferrari and a glass floor. The standard gondola seats can accommodate eight people and have background music.
The price for a standard ride is between $12.01 and $15.94 per person. There is no charge for children who are three years of age and younger. The price for the VIP gondola is $50 per person and includes access to the front of the line and a souvenir photo.
Jim Riggs, developer and managing partner of SouthWest Wheel Partners, expressed his pride in being able to bring the Grandscape Wheel to The Colony and be among those who bring entertainment to the development. Such new attractions and their charms can be promoted throughout a community with poster printing.
The Grandscape Wheel operates from Wednesday through Saturday. The total ride time is between 12 and 15 minutes, as it takes riders around three times. This is the latest addition to the development, which already includes Windmills and Jurassic World.
