Grandscape in The Colony is set to open over the next few months.
This $1.5bn development is not like any other in the Dallas area in that nearly all the stores and restaurants are new to the market. Print shops can be hired to print Flyers and other materials outlining the many features of such properties as a destination spot to attract locals and visitors.
President of Grandscape, Jeff Lind, said that the project was designed to be built with the growth of the area in mind. Lind and Katie Wedekind, marketing director, were the leasing agents for the development and traveled around the world to find new tenants so that Grandscape would be unique among its counterparts.
Grandscape occupies 433 acres of land and features multiple levels with water venues, lush landscaping, and many places for sitting, and has a layout designed to be friendly to pedestrians. There are four big-box tenants – Nebraska Furniture Mart, Andretti’s Indoor Karting & Games, the sporting goods store Scheels, and the Galaxy Theatres. Lind said that smaller spaces were built around each of these tenants so that people would not have to walk across long stretches of storefronts.
There is a Lawn section in front of a 55-foot stage featuring three LED digital boards that will be finished this spring. A Grotto section, inspired by Covent Garden in London, will open later this year.
