Furniture retailer in The Colony to unveil new logo

The Nebraska Furniture Mart (NFM) in The Colony will be unveiling its new logo this spring.

The massive building is 560,000 square feet in size and sells electronics, appliances, flooring, and home furnishings. It will be redefining its brand as it also launches its first own line of furniture, focused on modern pieces for spaces in urban areas. Chief merchandising officer, Nora Gomez, remarked that it has been 20 years since the company created a new logo for itself. NFM is also planning a new e-commerce platform.

The new furniture line and Logo Design are intended to appeal to millennials who now comprise over one-third of all home buyers. These are people who might want to purchase their furniture at Living Spaces, West Elm, or Target but do not want to shop where their parents shop, Gomez added.

This accompanies the many new hires from outside the company in the past year and reorganizations of supply chain, marketing, and merchandise teams. In addition to Gomez, who was hired in October of last year, Amy Myers, chief marketing officer joined the store this past spring from Summer Classics, a manufacturer and retailer of luxury outdoor furniture based in Alabama.

NFM has its headquarters in Omaha, Nebraska and its other stores in Kansas City and Des Moines. It is still partially owned by its founder, Warren Buffet of Berkshire Hathaway.
