Rousso, a concessionaire of the State Fair of Texas expects to turn the almost century-old building into a full-service combo restaurant and bar. In the release Rousso said:
"The Old Mill Inn is one of the most magical, irreplaceable buildings in all of Dallas. When I walked through those doors, I saw everything it could be - the history, the architecture, the soul of it."
A brochure printing service and colorful photographs go a long way toward building a clientele for a new or newly restored restaurant.
The restaurant’s interior will seat 120 and feature a large wood-burning fireplace, while the exterior will offer a patio with seating for 300 and a large screen TV.
The official debut of the restaurant’s reopening will take place later this summer ahead of the state fair; however, during Fair Park’s FIFA Fan Festival visitors will be given a preview of the new Old Mill Inn which runs until July 19.
Built for the Texas Centennial Exposition in 1936, the Old Mill is Dallas’ second-oldest restaurant but has been closed since the pandemic. During its preview opening the restaurant will be operating daily 11 am-3 pm.
Easily accessible from Gate 5 at Fair Park the restaurant’s address is 3611 Grand Avenue across from Big Tex Circle and only about 5 miles from the Stemmons Freeway.
