Shoppers at the Kroger store at 5665 E. Mockingbird Lane can now pick up food from local and national restaurant brands, such as Bad-Ass Breakfast Burritos, Capriotti’s Sandwich Shop, Carl’s Jr, Celebrity Chef David Chang’s Fuku, Curry Up Now, Dog Haus, Monkey Noodle Company, and The Impossible Shop. Food from the same establishments can also be ordered for delivery.
A California-based company, Kitchen United MIX provides the platform, which operates similar to a virtual food court whereby customers can mix and match food from the different participating restaurants. A big plus is that instead of being charged individually by each restaurant, the whole order will be on one receipt.
Retail establishments frequently use a flyer printing service to detail changes to their hours of operation or new services they may be offering, and then place a flyer in their customers’ shopping bag.
According to Keith Shoemaker, the Dallas Division president for Kroger, patrons can order one of three ways - via on-site digital kiosks, by using the Kitchen United MIX app, or online at KitchenUnited.com.
Shoemaker explained:
"The collaboration with Kitchen United is special because customers' restaurant-quality meal will be crafted while they're shopping for the fresh food and pantry staples their families need."
Currently, there are 14 to-go food halls being operated by Kitchen United MIXS.
