Dallas’ Starship Bagel was awarded the top prize and more at the annual bagel competition and festival the New York BagelFest.
The top prize at the 2025 event, the “Best Bagel” was won by Starship in a competition that featured two dozen other bagel producers from around the globe. Taking place in mid-November at Citi Field, BagelFest brought together numerous lovers, bakers and brands of bagels to celebrate all things bagel.
Featured at BagelFest were demos, tastings, photo ops, speakers, and games along with the event’s signature competition, which including Best of the Fest, Best of the Boroughs, and Best Bagel. Other competitions were the People’s Choice and Best Schmear.
Starship brought their sesame bagels and everything bagels along with their Lox-A-Roo a creative bagel version of Dunk-a-Roos. The Lox-A-Roo was created in partnership with Acme Smoked Fish and is made up of toasted bagel chips with a lox-infused schmear.

Starship was presented with four awards this year: A first-place prize for both the Best New York-style bagel and Best Showmanship as well as second place for Most Creative and for Best Schmear.
Starship Bagel opened its first location in 2021 in Lewisville with a second location opening two years later in downtown Dallas and a third location opening in 2024 in North Dallas. The company began competing at Bagel Fest in 2023, winning at least one award each year it has competed.
