In the release the Chief Communications Officer and EVP of DART, Jeamy Molina, said:
“By focusing service where it’s used most and keeping strong connections to rail, GoLink and key bus corridors, we’re helping move North Texas forward."
According to the release the frequency of Weekday light-rail during weekday peak periods will be less with the time between DART’s Red, Orange, Blue, and Green lines going from 15-minute intervals to every 20 minutes. The frequency on these lines on weekends and off-peak weekdays will not change.
Bus and train stations work more efficiently with the help of signage and banner printing supplied by local Print shops.
Additionally, the following bus routes will be discontinued: the 383 Lake Ray Hubbard Express, 378 Red Bird Express; 305 Addison Express; 255 Story; 254 Legacy; 225 Nursery; and the 209 McKinney/Cole. The public can utilize GoLink, rail and connecting bus routes as replacements. Many bus routes will be changing to 20-minute peak service with some of them switching to 30-minute intervals during off-peak periods.
Some routes will have minor timing adjustment to improve connections. These would include Routes 241, 237, 235, 233, 218, 1. Route 883 UTD Comet Cruiser will run every 12 minutes during the week and 20 minutes on weekends.
These changes will become effective on February 2.
