Bojangles plans big jump into Dallas market

The Southern fried chicken chain Bojangles has announced that it is expanding into Texas in a big way, with the North Carolina-based company opening its first Lone Star State’s location in the Dallas area.

Ground-breaking on the first location, which will be in Frisco, is scheduled for this month with an opening planned for spring. A second Frisco location will have construction starting at the end of this month, and is also for opening this spring. So far, six locations are slated to open in the DFW area.

Bojangles signed a deal in 2021 with a Dallas franchise group that is just now coming to fruition, and an additional 15 corporate-owned locations are on the drawing board across the Dallas-Fort Worth area.

Prior to the opening of new stores, many companies consult with printing services about the creation of signage to inform the public of what is under construction at a site.

Bojangles has built its reputation on its breaded fried chicken, biscuits, and Southern-inspired sided dishes among which are Cajun pinto beans, dirty rice and macaroni & cheese, plus its sweet tea, which it refers to as its “Legendary Iced Tea”. Founded in 1977, the chain also carried breakfast biscuit sandwiches and biscuits and gravy.

The first Texas location will open in Frisco at 1631 US Highway 380, with the second one opening in Frisco, as well at 2821 Eldorado Pkwy.
