Sprouts Farmers Market has the approval of Dallas City Council to build on the northeast corner of Hampton Road and Fort Worth Avenue.

The approval was the result of almost two years of negotiations that saw the grocery chain submitting multiple proposals to meet the exacting demands of neighborhood residents.

The precise approval given by the council was for rezoning approval, as the area in question is a Planned Development District that has restrictions such as ensuring the street view is of a storefront as opposed to a parking lot. Companies often promote new locations with the assistance of banner printing services.

City Councilman Chad West put forth a motion containing several stipulations, among which were a mandated anti-theft wheel lock for shopping carts and a downward orientation of exterior lighting aiming away from residential properties. Other conditions include drive-thru loudspeakers being placed no closer to the Hampton Road property line than 150 feet, and not directed at residential lots withing 1,000 feet. There are also minimum space requirements within 125 feet of the Fort Worth Avenue property line.

The new store will offer extra features such as a landscaping with eco-friendly elements, including a permeable pavement and a restaurant with patio seating.

As of yet, there is no street address or opening date available for this new Sprouts store.
