Dallas-Fort Worth boasts 19 places on Americas richest list

Texas is home to many billionaires, and although the two richest in the state, Elon Musk and Michael Dell, call Austin home, 19 others on the Forbes 400 list hail from right here in the Dallas-Fort Worth area.

Companies often rely on the expertise of beguiling catalog printing services to reach affluent members of society. The latest edition of Forbes’ annual list of the 400 richest individuals in the U.S. was released October 3, 2023. Among the highlights for residents of the Dallas-Fort Worth area is Alice Walton, who is once again listed as America’s wealthiest woman, and the Lone Star State’s third richest person.

Next down on the list are Dallas residents Jerry Jones and Andy Beal, at No. 48 and No. 50 respectively. According to the Forbes report:
"Walton, who had been the nation’s wealthiest woman for seven years before 2022, added $10.8 billion to her fortune since last year after a 26 percent rise in Walmart stock."

Walton’s net worth is, according to Forbes, estimated to be $66.5 billion. The 74-year-old Walton is the sole daughter of Sam Walton, the founder of Walmart. Although she spends considerable time in Bentonville, Arkansas attending to her Crystal Bridges Museum of American Art, her official residence is listed as Fort Worth.

Forbes utilizes financial data, interviews and documentation provided by billionaires and their businesses. Per the Forbes report, America’s wealthiest are now worth a total of $4.5 trillion, which ties the record total of 2021.
