Community stakeholders gather at Austin small business event

The Small Business Connections Conference will return to Austin next month.

The one-day expo is expected to attract area business leaders, entrepreneurs and non-profit groups who can gain valuable insight and knowledge from local government representatives, lenders, chambers of commerce and other support organizations.

Austin Small and Minority Business Resources (ASMBR) will team up with Austin Economic Development and Austin Financial Services to present the conference. Small Business Strong is this year’s conference theme, which recognizes the creative force and economic importance of the area’s many small businesses.

The ASMBR assists businesses that are owned by women or minorities as well as disadvantaged businesses, with certification that allows them to compete for local and nationally funded contracts. These may include transportation and airport projects, construction, community improvements and maintenance as well as other programs.

The upcoming conference will provide educational sessions led by experts on topics such as business licensing, marketing, finance, and tools for growth.

Attendees will also have the chance to network with other business people and entrepreneurs.

Business Cards are often a critical asset at these types of events as they can provide lasting professional connections.

The Small Business Connections Conference will be held on August 19, 2026, from 8 am to 2:30 pm at the Palmer Events Center in Austin. Further information is available on the city website.
