Singin’ in the Rain will open next month in Austin as the 2026 show of the 67th annual Zilker Summer Musical.
Often described as the greatest Hollywood musical of all time, Singin’ in the Rain was first released in 1952. The romantic musical comedy takes a playful look at Hollywood in the 1920s when the transformation from silent films to those with sound took place.
Presented by Zilker Theater Productions (ZTP), the outdoor show will feature all the film’s cherished moments, indelible songs and dances, highlighted by an onstage rainstorm.
As a non-profit organization, ZTP presents large annual stage productions as part of its focus to promote and sustain Broadway musicals as a form of artistic expression. Each year as many as 65,000 people enjoy their productions.
In addition to the annual Zilker Summer Musical, the organization also sponsors a range of other community engagement, educational workshops and youth training programs.
Community theater companies such as this often use poster printing to advertise their upcoming performances.
Singin’ in the Rain will be presented July 10 through August 15, 2026, on Thursdays through Sundays at 8:15 pm at the Beverly S. Sheffield Zilker Hillside Theater in Austin. Those who donate to become a Friend of the Summer Musical can attend a preview on July 9, 2026. Further information is available on the ZTP website.
