The Hot Luck Festival, an annual Austin celebration of live fire food and music traditionally held in spring, will this year take place in October.
Next month’s two-day festival will have the vibes of a casual backyard party and picnic where silverware is optional while enjoying expert open-pit cooking and thoughtfully selected live music. With downhome traditional recipes blended with newly inspired cuisine, the event is a chef-driven menagerie of food.
The eat-with-your fingers party will be held in various locations throughout Austin, including pop-up venues that in the past have showcased the culinary talent of Aaron Franklin, award-winning chef and festival creator.
Full details for this year will be provided closer to the event, but previous venues are expected to again be part of the food celebration. These include Giddy Up at Franklin Barbecue, Nite Moves at Assembly Hall, and Camp Sunnyside at Fair Market.
Giddy Up is a themed barbecue taco party while Nite Moves has previously featured numerous food stalls cooking street-style comfort food late into the evening. Camp Sunnyside is the venue for a campfire feast of slow-cooked brunch favorites.
