This summer, a brewery from Houston will make inroads in the city of Austin.
8th Wonder Brewery has plans to start distributing its brews in Austin at the beginning of this month. To introduce the beer brand to the city, several launch events are planned for area bars and restaurants and at a local Whole Foods.
8th Wonder gets its name from the Houston Astrodome, the former home of the Houston Astros baseball team and the first stadium of its kind -- domed and meant to be used for multiple purposes. For that reason, the Astrodome is sometimes called the ‘8th Wonder’.
When it began producing beers in 2018, 8th Wonder Brewery worked out of a dome-shaped warehouse.
Breweries and other companies can use flyer printing to spread the word when they launch in new cities or regions. 8th Wonder used a press release to get the word out about its Austin launch.
The brewery plans on starting out by offering six beers on draft in area bars, and Brown Distributing will help it get canned beer out to the public. Many of the beers pay homage to Houston or the Astrodome with their names.
The beers that will debut in Austin include Hopston Texas IPA, Haterade Gose, Weisstheimer Hefeweizen, and Dome Faux'm Throwback Cream Ale, all of which are available in cans or on draft. A seasonal beer, Rocket Fuel Vietnamese Coffee Porter, will be available on draft only.
