Throughout the month of March, Jester King Brewery will offer weekly "doom metal goat yoga" classes.
Although at first glance, doom metal and yoga do not seem like good bedfellows, the concept works, according to Peppy Meyer. Meyer works at the brewery as an expert in sustainability and also raised the animals who will appear in the sessions. He said to Austin 360:
"Simply, the droney undercarriage of the music whisks you away to the distant heavens.”
"We ask that your experience with an open mind, as the chunder carries your body into a meditative state. Also, goats love metal, and it’s ultimately their decision.”
Companies planning interesting workshops and classes can use printing services to promote them, noting the draws of their unconventional aspects.
The workshops are taking place on Saturdays at 11:00 am.
Although goats, yoga and metal might seem like a one-of-a-kind combination, Jester King Brewery is being joined by another Austin institution in pairing the animals and the spiritual practice this spring.
Starting in April, the Ball Farm, just outside the city limits, will host its own goat yoga workshops. The first class is scheduled for April 7 at 11:00 am and 12:30 pm.
