The wheels are in motion for the Austin Food & Wine Alliance's annual fundraiser.
The fundraiser's organizers recently announce the more than 20 chefs who will be participating in the event, called Live Fire.
Although Live Fire is a beef-tasting event that takes place outdoors every year, the theme of the program varies from year to year, with this year’s being Mexican cooking and flavors. What remains constant each year is a focus on fire grilling.
Several of the participating chefs have been involved with the program in past years. Among the returning participants are Jason Dady of Chispas and Fermin Nunez. Nunez is the chef at Suerte, which recently was named as a semifinalist for the Best New Restaurant James Beard Award.
Organizers of food and cooking events can use printing services to spread the word, especially among local foodies. Among the featured chefs at the program this year are Jose Caceres from La Panaderia and Alex Paredes from Carnitas Lonja. Austin-area chefs include Andre Natera and Daniel Noquera from Rules & Regs, Kevin Taylor from ATX Cocina Modern Mexican, Rick Lopez from La Condesa, and Alma Alcocer-Thomas from El Alma Cafe.
Other area food companies will make an appearance at Live Fire, such as Cold One Pops, SRSLY Chocolate, and Lost Pines Yaupon Tea. The event will also feature live music. Tickets are $95 and are available at AustinFoodWineAlliance.org.
Live Fire takes place on April 4 at 7:00 pm at Camp Mabry.
