While February might not be a month many associate with haunted houses, the House of Torment in Austin is trying something new this year. It will be offering those who'd rather skip the usual Valentine's Day sentimentality something that is the stark opposite – a night full of scares and vampires.

The Austin haunted house is actually one of several that will take place the weekend before Valentine's Day at cities across the US. The theme of the haunted house is, appropriately, ‘Love Bites’. Attendees can expect to see plenty of teeth-baring vampires during their visit to the haunted house.
Like many locations with a ghostly theme, the Valentine's Day event has a story behind it. A vampire, Lord Tenebris, has spent the past few hundred years asleep, waiting for a world full of humans that would be easy to conquer. He has decided that now nas the time and is getting ready to invade the world, along with his vampire brides and children.
The vampire haunted house will take place on February 9 and 10, between 7:00 pm and 11:00 pm each night. Ticket holders are able to show up anytime between those hours. Ticket prices start at $26.99.
