Recognized as one of the ‘Best Oktoberfests in America’ by Food & Wine Magazine, the 7th Annual AustOberfest will take place in Austin.
The event celebrates the German heritage found throughout the state. German-style sausage, unlimited beer, contests, and live music will light up the city.
A traditional group of German singers formed a society known as Saengerrunde, which today is the oldest ethnic entity in the city of Austin. A building was established in 1908 for the society members to meet and work together to preserve the German heritage. The organization is instrumental in bringing the festival to the city each year.
The Austin Polka Band and the Matt Wilson Band will perform at the fest. Beer companies participating at the event include Alstadt Brewery, Bell’s, Community Beer Co., and Karbach Brewing Co. Texas Beer Bus and Partners are current sponsors. Other sponsorship opportunities are available. Often, sponsors have Business Cards printed to distribute at public events to create brand awareness.
Founded in July 2010, Foodways Texas comprises chefs, ranchers, scholars, and restaurateurs promoting and preserving the food culture in the region. The group partners with educational institutes and related organizations. Food entrepreneurs participate in the AustOberfest each year.
